I heard something profound from a Ex military cop. Gun laws keep criminals safe. Because they know most Law Abiding people don’t carry guns. Because its such a hassle and pain to get a concealed carry permit. I feel safer knowing that most decent people so far outnumber the bad 10-1. In a mall if some nut pulled a gun and started shooting. Every parent and law-abiding person that had a gun would shoot that person on site. If all the veterans on that base had a gun. This guy would have been downed in 30 seconds.
What teacher wouldn’t shoot some deranged teen to protect the other kids. Anyone that wants to do something like that can buy a gun illegally in hours in almost any major city. gun laws don’t work and you can’t take guns away completely. Look at all the money and resources we throw at Drugs. So far all it’s done is make it a money-maker for the drug dealers. Like prohibition when they tried to make liquor illegal gave birth to organized crime.
We need sensible Gun laws keep away from mentally ill, keep away from violent offenders. All though they just buy illegally but make it so john doe citizen can get a gun. Ill tell you what I see in the future anyhow no matter what you think the government can do to protect you. As radical islm and other fanatical groups flood into the US. Our cities are going to become more like Mexico in the future. There will be an outcry for more liberal gun laws. You wont be able to hire enough cops in the future to protect the growing threats.
The safest people in the world are in self-contained gated community’s. Those living in the wilderness with fences and guns hanging on their trucks and over the mantles in their homes. In the 1800’s despite the movies you have seen about the wild west. The murder rates and theft rates were lower per person by far then they are now. Back then if you stole you knew you’d be shot, you robbed a house or a ranch you were most likely to die. It wasn’t until so-called civilization and gun laws started. That gave birth to the Bonnie & Clyde’s of the 20 and 30’s. It was the prohibition that gave rise to crime, murder, drugs organized crime. More people die from fight’s , stabbing, and cars then guns ever have in the US. Remember when Louisiana had such car jacking’s going on people were being murdered every day. The relaxed the Gun laws and made it legal to shoot someone during a car jacking. Just something to think about all you get rid of the guns liberal nut cases..! It will be some one like me that saves your life one day or maybe not…?
